Come and cheer our human and canine representatives at the 4th of July Parade in Antioch!
Save-A-Vet Kids' Day on Friday, July 10
Join Save-A-Pet and other local rescues for a fun day in the sun. Face Painting, Music, Food and more. Come out and pet Julio, a rescued donkey, who was removed from two farms where he was neglected and abused. Julio, now a resident of Spring Grove is 100% healed and loves the attention of children. Save-A-Pet will have a couple of our residents there too. Event is held at Beva Caffe, 7221 State Park Rd. in Spring Grove, IL 60020, 847-973-9424. Bring the Kids, Bring the Pets, See you there to help our canine veterans and Save-A-Vet.
PetsMart in Kildeer - July 11
Come and meet some of our volunteers and feline residents at the PetsMart in Kildeer (20771 N Rand Rd Bldg G, 847-438-3404) noon till about 3pm. Some cats are, of course, on location 7 days a week at the Kildeer store. During store hours, staff can also help you meet our cats at that location, just ask one of their associates.
Save-A-Pet at Gurnee Mills - Sunday July 12
Come and meet some of our animals looking for their new families from about noon to 3pm. Donations will of course also be accepted. Even if you can't adopt, stop by to say hello! We will be in the Grange Mall, outside of Bed, Bath & Beyond. Closest entrance from parking lot is entry B.
Jersey Pine Cruisers Ride - July 12
The Jersey Pine Cruisers will hold their annual Charity Poker Run on Sunday, July 12. Join them for a scenic ride through the Northern Illinois countryside to benefit Save-A-Pet residents. Registration: 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Pet Supplies Plus, 1206 W. Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove (NW corner of Dundee & Arlington Heights Road). Registration fee for each bike (regardless whether there is a passenger or not): $20.00. Best 3 poker hands, door prizes and 50/50 raffle at the end. Food and beverages available at the ending point. PetsMart - Gurnee, Saturday, July 18
Come and meet some of our volunteers and dogs at the PetsMart in Gurnee (6405 Grand Avenue, 847-855-7811) noon till about 3pm. Volunteers will have a few residents from our adoption center, eager to find their new home.
PetsMart, Vernon Hills - Sat. July 25
Come and meet some of our animals looking for their forever homes on Saturday, July 25 from about noon to 3pm. Donations will of course also be accepted. Cats are also on location every day! Even if you can't adopt, stop by to say hello! PetsMart is located at the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Route 60.
Reunion - Saturday August 1
Please join us for a fun and festive Saturday from 11am to 3 p.m. with the blessing at 1 p.m.. Bring your furry companion and meet with other attendees to share your special and heartwarming stories. There will be a blessing of the animals and people! Refreshments, food, games, dog wash, and Jazzman Jeff Justman will make for a wonderful day for everyone.Don't forget to enter your adopted pet into our "Life is Good!" photo contest.

Paws on the Path - Sunday, October 4
Sunday, October 4 at the Lakewood Forest Preserve, shelter E, 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Get your walking shoes and your paws ready for Save-A-Pet's annual Pet-athlon. Plenty of entertainment and goodies for everyone: human, canine, and feline! The Lakewood Forest Preserve, Wauconda, is off of Route 176, just slightly west of Fairfield. There will be lots of entertainment and event activities. More details to follow, keep tuned!
